This shows that “the circulation of the new virus in the pediatric population occurred before the epidemic recognized in the city” and supports the hypothesis that “the circulation of the virus in children is often unknown”. The isolation was carried out at the University of Parma and the data is published in the ‘International journal of infectious diseases’.
The EU study on antibodies, Emilia Romagna protagonist
TO Reggio Emilia you study the antibodies to the COVID-19. It is a project to evaluate virus antibody tests SARS-CoV-2, ie serologicals, promoted by Eunetha, the European network for the evaluation of health technologies. To guide him there Emilia Romagna region, through theUsl Irccs company of Reggio Emilia with four of his professionals. “The goal of the project- explains the regional councilor for Health Raffaele Donini – is to guarantee the scientific community a constant update on the accuracy of the tests and their use in different scenarios. A theme, this, “on which our Region has spent a lot, quickly activating a very precise plan precisely on serological tests. In a constantly evolving situation like the one we are experiencing – the councilor continues – it is essential to give new answers and solutions “.
The study, which aims to indicate which it is the effectiveness of antibody tests for the Sars-CoV-2 virus (so-called serological tests), it is part of the Eunetha project dedicated to Covid-19. First, we will evaluate which is the most suitable way to implement a program screening that allows the transmission of the infection to be monitored in the best possible way, both in the general population and among those at greatest risk of exposure (for example, health workers).
The project will also aim to give indications on how to make timely and reliable theat diagnosis of Sars-CoV-2 infection. It will also try to identify the type of tests that should be used to follow the course of the disease in real time, in order to support healthcare personnel on decisions relating to treatment, hospitalization, discharge and return to the community.
Equally important will be to understand if the tests are actually a diagnostic tool to be able to certify with confidence whether there is a transmission risk in patients who have recovered from the infection, and whether the antibodies guarantee immunity to the subjects who are been affected by the virus.
The results of the evaluation will be published in June.

Another company, on the other hand, proposes to create a film which, treated with nanotechnology, is also capable of acquiring antibacterial and antiviral characteristics. And again, a project aims to develop a machine that will allow the packaging of disinfectant gel in innovative single-dose sachets that can be easily opened thanks to the use of only three fingers.
The projects will be monitored and must be completed within 6 months from the approval of the financing, and the results must allow the development of concrete solutions and timely application, which can have the widest diffusion and impact on the whole regional territory.
