(ANSA) – BOGOTA ‘, MAY 28 – The United States Embassy a
Bogota has announced that American military personnel will arrive in
Colombia next month to join the field actions of
contrast to drug trafficking. Reportedly, a Brigade
Security Assistance Team (SFAB) “will come to help the
Colombia in its war on drugs “for” several months “.
US troops will be deployed mainly
in the so called “Zonas Futuro”, areas of Colombia where
develop illegal economies, priorities for the government:
Pacífico sur (Narino department),
Catatumbo (Norte de Santander), Arauca, Bajo Cauca and the park
National Chiribiquete and surrounding areas.
“The Sfab mission in Colombia is an opportunity for
demonstrate our mutual commitment against trafficking
drugs and regional peace support, respect for
sovereignty and the lasting promise to defend ideals and values
shared, “said Commander Admiral Craig Faller
of the Southern Command of the USA.
