Catholic Church excommunicates Bev Bingle, woman ‘priest’

There Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith communicated to Diocese of Toledo, in the United States of America, which Bev Bingle, a woman ordained a deacon in 2012 and a priest in 2013, was excommunicated.

The order was made by a movement – Roman Catholic women priests – not recognized by the Church. The news of the excommunication, the maximum sanction for the Church, was the archbishop of Toledo, Msgr. Daniel Thomas, who urged the community not to be “misled” by the woman. Bingle replied, “It’s an empty threat,” “they can’t burn me at the stake.” SOURCE: ANSA.
