BMW 5 Series: unveiled the new generation


bmw revealed the restyling of the Series 5: the German brand launches the new generation of the key model in its range, with a series of stylistic and technical updates regarding the variants sedan is Touring, available in dealers from July.

The innovations of the latest generation of the 5 Series can already be seen from the outside: the designers have chosen the path of a makeover decided, significantly transforming the front of the two cars which becomes taller and wider, with led headlights redesigned through a geometric cut for the daytime running lights. Changes also for the tail lights that sport a three-dimensional effect. The bumpers are also new: the front and rear air intakes have been retouched with the introduction of integral trapezoidal tailpipes.

The models of the new generation Series 5 sedan and Touring, are offered with the diesel, petrol, mild hybrid and plug-in hybrid variants. With the last two, Bmw’s strategy of electrification and CO2 emissions continues to achieve the objectives set by the European Union for 2021. Customers will have the opportunity to choose between the 530e, 545e plug-in hybrid variants and the 520i, 520d, 530i, 530d, 540i and 540d mild hybrid at 48V and the sporty M550i: all these models have an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The 530e matches the 2.0 turbo engine to the electric one for a total of 292 horsepower and 420 Nm of torque, with electric range that can vary from 53 to 67 kilometers depending on the version. The 545e xDrive, on the other hand, offers the 3.0 petrol 6-cylinder and the electric motor: 394 hp and 600 Nm with zero emissions range between 54 and 57 kilometers.

There are also numerous innovations regarding on-board equipment: BMW introduces new features related to driver assistance systems. On board the models we find the Driving Assistant Professional package with Active Navigation, the Lane Change Assistant with Junction Warning, Emergency Lane and 3D visualization of traffic and the 3D traffic visualization. Customers can also install the Reversing Assistant and the BMW Drive Recorder which allows you to store the last 40 seconds of driving.

Bmw, after increasing the offer for urban mobility with e-bikes and scooters, will present the new 5 Series with a commercial launch through which it will also offer theM Sport Edition set up limited edition of one thousand copies. The models in this series are available with all four and six cylinder engines and offer: the M Sport package, the special Donington Gray or Tanzanite Blue paintwork, the interiors covered in Dakota black leather, the multifunction electric seats, the lowered chassis , the two-tone Air Performance rims an increased brake system with red calipers.
