BARCELONA (SPAIN) – Arthur Melo does not move from Barcelona and would have already communicated it in official and definitive form to Juventus. The decision was already reported last weekend by agents of the 23-year-old ex Gremio to Fabio Paratici. The Brazilian midfielder, who is linked to the Blaugrana until 30 June 2024, since the arrival of Quique Setién feels fully valued in the Boat and intends to continue his adventure in a city where he has perfectly acclimated. Hence the decision to relaunch his bet and to respond to the tempting Juventus proposal with a courteous no thank you. Decision that could, at this point, complicate the market strategies of the two companies, starting with the deal Miralem Pjanic, which in these parts gave close to closure.
Arthur feels appreciated in Barcelona by Setién
Arthur he immediately wanted to clarify his position in order to concentrate better on the final rush of the season, which foresees the restart of the La Liga on 11 June. Hence the desire to close, at least for now, the prospect of a change of jacket for the moment and put an end to the many voices that came from Italy. The player, by the way, had already sketched a speech about a possible renewal with the Boat, but the Covid-19 crisis has blocked everything, in this sense, even within the Catalan club, which now works to try to reduce, in some way, the huge payroll. In addition to being highly appreciated by Setién for his style of play consistent with the Blaugrana philosophy, the new Xavi does not have a very high salary in consideration of the club standards, so the choice to keep it in the squad is also very welcome to the president Josep Maria Bartomeu.
