“Turkey has closed its airspace to Russian fighters” claim


In the Russian newspaper Nezavisimaya, “Ankara will close the Bosphorus for Russia” published a news article.

The report, Turkey’s airspace was allegedly close to the Russian combat aircraft.

It was claimed that the decision included military aircraft flying to the Hmeymim air base of the Russian Air Force in Syria.

The report said, “Ankara did not allow two Su-24M bombers and Tu-154 military transport planes to cross over its territory.”

It was suggested that the planes had to fly over the Caspian Sea, Iran and Iraq by changing their course.
