The Purples erased early double digits, but also dropped a 15-point lead themselves before securing the win. Marcus Foster excelled again with 27 points, Gregory Vargas was far away from Triple-double on the other side
While four teams are busy this week in the National Cup decision, Hapoel Holon and Maccabi Haifa met on Tuesday (Tuesday) for an early game of the 20th round in the Premier League, from which the Purple came out with an 82:88 victory. Stefanos Dadas’ team recovered from the loss to Ashdod, while the Haifa were stopped after two consecutive wins. The Greens started better and even had an 11-point lead in the first quarter, but the host returned to the game with a 0:13 run that went into the second quarter. The lead went from side to side several times and in preparation for the break, Guy Panini and TJ Klein gave Holon a 42:47 lead. In the third quarter, the Purples opened a double-digit gap themselves with the help of threes from Ryan Thompson and Marcus Foster, with the middle of the final quarter already reaching 15. Gregory Vargas and Jonathan Moore each scored three each, Michael Brisker added five straight points and Haifa had already reduced to minus four, but Joe Alexander snipped off the arc and later Holon drew interest from the line to secure the win.
