Coronavirus continues to penalize key sectors of the economy such as transport and tourism. The Hong Kong airline Cathay Pacific has in fact asked its 27,000 employees to take up to three weeks of leave amid the difficulties and turmoil on the activities related to the Wuhan coronavirus epidemic.

“I hope all of you can participate, from the staff of
first line to our senior leaders, so we can share
burdens of current challenges ». This was stated by the number one of the
Hong Kong company, Augustus Tang, in a video message
posted online.

The decision to leave employees home for three weeks comes after the company plans to cut 30% of its capacity over the next two months and 90% of its flights to mainland China.
