Lord Trimble, the first Minister of Northern Ireland, won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1998 for his efforts to find a peaceful solution to the conflict in Northern Ireland.
According to the criteria required to be nominated, the nominees must be intellectuals, academics or members of parliament, former Nobel laureates or judges in international courts, and since Trimble is the Nobel Peace Prize winner, his decision to nominate Prime Minister Netanyahu will bring Committee to discuss the issue.
Grimoldi, a member of the right-wing Liga party, wrote in a tweet on the social network Twitter: “I hope for a double Nobel Prize for Trump and Netanyahu. Now they are both candidates, now it is possible.” Grimoldi also signed a number of other European MPs on Netanyahu’s candidacy for the prestigious award.
In a separate tweet, Grimoldi explained the reasons for his recommendation of Netanyahu: “I presented Netanyahu’s nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize. Why? The reasons are peace with Bahrain, peace with the United Arab Emirates and talks with Saudi Arabia, which opened Saudi airspace to Israel and discussed Saudi recognition. Historical reasons. ”
