Ter Mors signs out for NK sprint with ankle injury

Jorien ter Mors was forced to cancel the NK sprint. Last Tuesday, Ter Mors went through her ankle during training.

Until yesterday, the skater of team IKO was not able to stand on the irons at all, but after the first training since the injury her ankle has become so thick again that Ter Mors has to cancel the NK sprint.

“I find it an incredible disappointment that I cannot participate this weekend, because I really had set my sights on this NK sprint”, said a balding Ter Mors. “It’s terribly frustrating, but my ankle hurts too much now to skate hard this weekend.”

Last weekend Ter Mors ran the last distance on the NK all-round to save himself for the NK sprint. It came to her severe criticism.

The trainer of Jorien ter Mors, Martin ten Hove, also calls it a “huge downer” that his pupil cannot drive. “She wanted to show after last weekend, when she got a lot of criticism for her cancellation, that she is made of the right stuff. That she is not a quitter. Unfortunately the ankle does not allow it,” he explains.
