Le Pristine, Sergio Herman’s new restaurant, has been named ‘Newcomer of the Year’ in the new Gault & Milliau. Le Pristine achieved no less than 16/20 with the first inclusion in the culinary guide.
2020 has of course not been an easy year for the hospitality industry. Many restaurants nowadays only survive on takeout menus. Le Pristine also receives around 600 orders every weekend, but that is really the maximum.
“We try not to make it too difficult for people,” says Sergio Herman in Gazet van Antwerpen. “But do not forget that the experience, the atmosphere and the energy you feel in Le Pristine is extraordinary. You don’t put them in a box. Well, love is certainly there. “
No satisfaction
“That’s why, I don’t get satisfaction from a takeaway box,” admits the top chef, also seen in ‘My Kitchen My Restaurant’ on VTM. “It does come from people who come in and leave the store content. If you can experience that together as a team, that is magic ”, he concludes.
