Up to 10:00 this morning, 8,306 new confirmed corona infections were reported to the RIVM. That is 430 fewer than yesterday.
The number of positive tests has now been below 10,000 for three consecutive days. There is hardly any increase in the number of infections on a weekly basis. Tomorrow, RIVM will publish its weekly figures and the cabinet will decide whether additional measures are needed.
239 new corona patients have been admitted to the hospital’s wards, reports the National Coordination Center for Patient Distribution.
47 new patients were admitted to intensive care, almost all of them transferred from the nursing wards.
In total, there are now 2545 people with corona in hospital (yesterday: 2493), of whom 587 in the IC (yesterday 583). More corona patients were admitted than were discharged.
29 deceased covid patients
29 deceased covid patients have been reported to the RIVM. Yesterday, 39 deaths were reported. In the past seven days, RIVM registered an average of 56 deaths per day, against 43 deaths per day a week earlier.
Most of the reported infections were found in Rotterdam, namely 508. In Amsterdam and The Hague it was 322 and 272 respectively.
