Resident and employee Mitt Hem test positive for coronavirus, all residents in quarantine

Mitt Hem is an apartment complex of the Eilandzorg care institution where people with a non-congenital brain defect and elderly people with a physical or mental disability live.

Although the residents will have to stay indoors for the foreseeable future, they are allowed to receive one visitor per day. Visitors are asked to wash their hands properly, wear a mouth mask and keep a distance of at least five feet.

Residents only receive the necessary care. This means that, for example, the domestic help and a hairdresser are not allowed to come by for the time being. In the coming period, residents of Mitt Hem will be preventively tested for the corona virus.

It is the second time that Eilandzorg has been confronted with an outbreak of the corona virus. At the beginning of October, five residents of De Wieken care center in Zierikzee died. A total of 23 residents and thirty employees were affected by corona. Earlier this month, that location was declared corona-free.
