PSV-Sparta in the sign of deceased Pim Doesburg: ‘Will be 0-0’

Danny and Pim jr. Doesburg watch PSV-Sparta on Sunday evening with special attention. Their father Pim Doesburg, who passed away last week, played 687 matches at the highest level in the Netherlands for both clubs.

“The circle will be complete on Sunday”, Pim jr. Concludes in conversation with it Algemeen Dagblad. “On Sunday there was a nice tribute at Sparta-ADO. It became 6-0 and it turned out that the last time Sparta won in the Eredivisie with those figures, our father was under the bar.”

The zero was sacred to Doesburg senior, son Danny knows, who immediately remembers his father’s last game as PSV goalkeeper. The Eindhoven team won at the time with 7-2 against FC Den Haag. “I remember that. He was still angry about those goals against ..”

Pim jr. Supports his brother. “PSV-Sparta will then be 0-0. My father was always busy with that zero. And I had that too. I’d rather win 0-0 than 4-3.” PSV-Sparta starts on Sunday evening at 8 p.m.
