US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo was warmly received at noon (Thursday) at Psagot Winery in the Sha’ar Binyamin compound, while at the same time a demonstration by the far-left organization “Peace Now” took place.
Naomi Kahn, director of the international department at Regavim, clarified in a conversation with Channel 7 that this is a historic visit that is a direct continuation of the “Pompeo Declaration” regarding the legality of the settlements from last year.
“This is a historic visit beyond the long-erased Green Line,” we noted, knowing that he is a true friend, both of the State of Israel and of the Jewish settlement here and of the Jewish citizens of the state who live in Judea and Samaria. “
“The declaration of the American government last year, which has since been known as the ‘Pompeo Declaration,’ really recognizes the legitimacy of our settlement enterprise and inventions here on the ground in the historic heart of the State of Israel,” she explained.
According to Kahn, the current visit is a complement to the statement correcting the injustice he did to the Hansen’s settlement enterprise, “it is not just a statement but a vote on foot.”
