THE HAGUE (ANP) – On Thursday, the Health Council will issue a preliminary advice to the cabinet on how to deal with a vaccine against corona, should it be allowed to market. This does not yet discuss a specific vaccine, but it is generally about any vaccine that will prove to be good enough.

Only when it is clear which vaccines can or can be used, further advice may be given, if requested.
Advice is needed because a vaccine is very unlikely to be immediately available to everyone. The advice must provide a way in which “maximum health benefits” can be achieved.
According to preliminary research results, a corona vaccine from the American pharmaceutical company Pfizer is 90 percent effective in preventing infection, it was reported last week. This week, hopeful reports followed about a vaccine from the American pharmaceutical company Moderna.
