During the first lockdown, on-site visits to sell or rent out a home were not allowed. The sector believes it is allowed this time. “The ministerial decree does not contain any elements showing that it should no longer be allowed”, says Dorien Stevens of the Professional Institute of Real Estate Agents.
“There is no official communication from the minister who says it is not possible,” continues Stevens. “Notaries and social housing companies are allowed to continue working. They also conduct site visits. And it has been said that everything will be done to avoid unfair competition.”
Even those who want to sell or rent their home without a broker will not be able to organize visiting days. After all, in that case, the rules apply that no one is allowed to visit besides the so-called cuddle contact. Online viewings are allowed for both private individuals and brokers.
