Well 3.5 months after his horror crash in the Tour of Poland, Fabio Jakobsen is back on the bike. He posted on social media a photo of a training trip with girlfriend Stougje.
Things are getting better with Fabio Jacobsen. The Dutchman from Deceuninck – Quick-Step is cycling again. And that is quite remarkable after the death taste he made during the Tour of Poland. In the bunch sprint he flew over the crush barriers after a maneuver by fellow countryman Dylan Groenewegen. He was seriously injured in the crash, especially his face was hit hard. In October he underwent a reconstruction of his upper and lower jaw and now he is already on the bike. He went on a trip with his girlfriend Stougje Delore.
“It was a hellish period,” he posted on Facebook. “With this post I would like to thank all doctors and specialists for their help during this long period. The same for my Deceuninck-Quick-Step team and the sponsors for the support during my rehabilitation process. I now look forward to my next surgery in January. In the meantime I will slowly start training again. “
