Boxing legend Mike Tyson once used an artificial penis and his baby’s urine to pass doping tests during his career, he says in the newspaper. Hotboxin-podcast.
Tyson says he has used many different drugs throughout his career, including cocaine and weed. To pass the tests required for his sports career, he used a synthetic penis that can be filled with other people’s urine.
“It was great man. I put my baby’s urine in it,” said 54-year-old Tyson. If he used his wife’s urine, the test could possibly come back with ‘pregnant’ as the result. He did not want to take that risk. “I was terrified to be told I was pregnant.”
The urine tests that the boxer had to undergo were under the watchful eye of someone: the test taker had to be able to see that it was Tyson who was urinating at the time. The boxer explains that he therefore went the extra mile to make his fake penis look real. This way he could choose from different skin colors.
‘Not the only top athlete who did this’
Jeff Novitzky can also be heard on the podcast. The vice president of MMA association UFC previously conducted research into the use of banned substances by top athletes. According to Novitzky, more athletes used Tyson’s method and it was less credible with some. “There was once an NFL athlete, a black man with a white artificial penis. His test also came back with the result ‘pregnant’. He had used a woman’s urine.”
A spokesman for Tyson tries to converse with the boxer’s anecdote TMZ and says his client only did this once – in his 20s – and not on a regular basis.
Tyson ended his boxing career in 2005 at the age of 38 after a defeat against Irishman Kevin McBride. In total he fought 50 matches, of which he won 44 by knockout. He is said to have earned about $ 400 million (over $ 340 million) during his 20-year career.
This year, the top boxer will make his return against Roy Jones Jr., against whom he will appear in the ring at the end of November.
