Biden: “I will be president to all Americans, regardless of their vote” | NOW

Joe Biden said on Twitter on Saturday that he was honored that the American people have elected him as the 46th president. “It’s going to be a tough road, but I promise you I will be a president to all Americans, regardless of whether you voted for me or not.”

In a longer statement, the 77-year-old Democrat said he was humbled by the trust the people place in him and future Vice President Kamala Harris.

“Faced with unparalleled obstacles, a record number of Americans have voted. That proves again that democracy is deeply rooted in America’s heart. With the campaign ending, it’s time to leave the anger and bitter rhetoric behind and come together. as a nation, ”said Biden.

Biden took the win by more than four million votes nationwide ahead of current President Donald Trump. Also, never before have so many people voted for a presidential candidate in American history. At the same time, some 70 million Americans, nearly half of the electorate, remained behind Trump. So a difficult task awaits Biden to bridge the gap that exists.

The Democrat says in his statement that it is time for America to unite and heal. “We are the United States of America. And there is nothing we cannot achieve if we do it together.”

At 2.00 a.m. Dutch time (prime time in the US), the upcoming president will address the country. He will do this in his home town of Wilmington, Delaware.
