Steven Bergwijn has left the training camp of the Dutch national team. The attacker of Tottenham Hotspur is not fit and has to miss the next matches for the Orange.
23-year-old Bergwijn reported to Zeist on Monday with complaints and was examined by the medical staff of Orange. He then trained separately from the group.
After the training, it was decided to send the attacker back to London. National coach Frank de Boer is not calling for a replacement, so the selection of the Dutch national team now consists of 24 players.
At Tottenham Hotspur, Bergwijn has had to do with a role on the bench since the arrival of Gareth Bale. He played in four games in the Premier League this season.
The Dutch national team will play three international matches in the coming week. On Wednesday, the Orange squad will play an exhibition game against Spain, followed by duels against Bosnia and Herzegovina (November 15) and Poland (November 18) in the Nations League.
