5 new COVID-19 infections, still far below the danger zone

In the past 24 hours, 5 new COVID-19 infections have emerged in Suriname. This is evident from the update of the figures on the official COVID-19 website of the Surinamese government on Sunday evening. The total number of active infections is currently 35.

Last week there was an average number of 6 infections per day. “Every contamination is one too many. However, we are now well below the set danger zone of 25 infections per day ”, the Surinamese Minister of Health said on Sunday evening.

He indicated that there has been a downward trend with hopeful numbers. “This allows us to steadily continue the path to further standardization,” said the minister.

Despite the good news, however, not much will change for the time being. These measures apply from Monday 9 November to Sunday 22 November.
