48 lockdown offenders arrested – Suriname Herald

Some citizens still ignore the curfew and just stay on the street between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m., while this is prohibited. Being on the street during that period is only allowed for essential services. As the police announced, strict action would again be taken against curfew violators. This also happened on the night of 26 to 27 November.

Several police units detained a total of 48 lockdown offenders that night. In the group there were ten women, who were also transferred to the hall on the grounds of the Police Academy.

The police are urging citizens to strictly adhere to COVID-19 measures, such as curfews.
