Amsterdam – The municipality of Amsterdam has allocated a total of 3.27 million euros for the voluntary reception of 255 illegal immigrants. One of the goals was to achieve voluntary return to the country of origin. But in any case, the reception did not help when migrants returned: no foreign national returned to their country of origin from reception, concludes GL alderman Rutger Groot Wassink (Undocumented). That is why he decides to stop the project.
