The match in Zwolle eventually seemed to end in a 0-3, but in injury time Jonna van de Velde made the 0-4. That didn’t stop PEC from turning it on for a while; Naomi Hilhorst saved the honor and made it 1-4 in the 94th minute.

FC Twente also easily won tonight. At home against sc Heerenveen it became 3-0 thanks to goals from Renate Jansen, Elena Dhont and Kerstin Casparij. ADO Den Haag played a draw against VV Alkmaar (2-2) and is now second with ten points.

Outrage

After the cabinet had announced new measures two weeks ago and had stopped all amateur competitions, the indignation was great when it turned out that the Women’s Eredivisie was also covered and had to stop.

Not long afterwards, Minister Tamara van Ark (Medical Care and Sports) stepped into the breach. “What applies to men, also applies to women,” said the minister in one of the corona debates. In consultation with the KNVB, it also became possible for the women to live in a ‘sporting bubble’ and thus to be able to resume the competition.

Next Sunday, PSV will play against Excelsior in Rotterdam. With a win, the team from Eindhoven creeps a little closer to the leader, then with twelve points it is only three points away from Ajax.
