Stock market update: Brussels started lower


(ABM FN) The Brussels stock exchange started lower on Tuesday. Shortly after the stock market bell, the Bel20 recorded 0.5 percent lower at 3,244.02 points.

With an increase of 3.6 percent, Telenet took the lead in the main index, after Barclays placed the stock on the buy list.

Still, a majority of the main shares are in red. KBC carried the red lantern with a decrease of 1.4 percent.

On the second line, Immobel rose 1.5 percent, while Retail Estates lost 1.3.

Celyad added 4.6 percent to the smaller shares. The biotech company has partnered with MSD, part of Merck & Co.

Texaf, on the other hand, gave up 2.4 percent.
