Soldier of Orange is halted due to corona infections within the cast, confirms a spokesperson for the musical after reporting from Shownieuws.

About half of the cast, about fifteen people, have tested positive for the corona virus. That is why the musical was definitely canceled until October 4.

In early March Soldier of Orange also discontinued, but that was then because of the stricter corona measures. After six months the musical was performed again.

When production was restarted at the beginning of September, producer Fred Boot said he was happy that the team could get back to work, even though with 300 instead of 1,100 people in the room it is far from profitable.

Soldier of Orange is the most successful theater performance in Dutch history. Since the premiere in October 2010, the adaptation of the life story of resistance fighter Erik Hazelhoff Roelfzema has continuously attracted sold-out audiences.

The piece has since been played almost three thousand times and more than three million tickets have been sold.
