0.7 percent of the Moroccan population has SARS-CoV-2 antibodies of the IgG type. This is evidenced by the preliminary results of a national serological survey conducted by the Ministry of Health.
Serological testing was performed on blood samples from donors in blood banks, public laboratories and teaching hospitals. Between March and August this year, 85,000 blood samples were tested. 0.7 percent had antibodies against the coronavirus.
On a national level, this means that 254,100 people have been in contact with people infected with the virus, out of 36.3 million Moroccans.
With this research, the Ministry of Health wants to map the prevalence of the virus and the degree of immunity of the population.
