Mick Schumacher makes his debut in free practice Formula 1 | Motorsport

The young German driver takes over from Italian Antonio Giovinazzi in the first free practice session prior to the GP Eifel in Germany at Alfa Romeo.

“I am thrilled to have this opportunity in free practice. Having my first participation in a Formula 1 weekend in my home country makes it even more special for me,” said Schumacher. “Over the next ten days, I’m going to prepare as best I can to do my best for the team and provide usable data.”

The GP Eifel is on Sunday 11 October. The first free practice session at the Nürburgring will be held on Friday, October 9.

Schumacher, part of the Ferrari Driver Academy, is currently leader in Formula 2.
