Google brings noise filter to mobile version of video calling service Google Meet | NOW

Google has started updating its video calling service Google Meet on iOS and Android, the company reports on its site. With an added noise filter, background noise is removed during meetings.

The feature is available first to G Suite Enterprise and G Suite Enterprise for Education customers. This means that not everyone with a Google Meet account can use the filter.

Google made the noise cancellation available for the web version of Meet in June. With the filter, for example, the sound of creaking papers and clinking glasses can be removed. Also tapping sounds on a keyboard are no longer audible to others thanks to the function.

According to Google, the noise cancellation is turned off by default. Customers can enable the filter during a call via the settings. It may take a few days for anyone with a suitable account to be able to use the feature.
