Giro 2020: Team Sunweb with Kelderman and Oomen as classification riders

Team Sunweb has announced its final roster for the Giro d’Italia. Wilco Kelderman and Sam Oomen are, as previously announced, the designated men for the classification. Michael Matthews focuses on day success.

Team Sunweb has not missed the restart of the season. Michael Matthews put the Brittany Classic behind his name, Wilco Kelderman finished fourth in Tirreno-Adriatico and Marc Hirschi and Søren Kragh Andersen gave the team three stage victories in the Tour de France. “After a really successful restart of the season, the motivation in the team is very high and the guys want to continue that success in Italy”, Giro sports director Luke Roberts said.

According to the Australian, the preparation period for the Tour of Italy has gone well. “We are pursuing two goals as a team in Italy: a good classification and stage wins – in the same way as in other competitions recently. We bring strong climbers with us to support our ambitions for the rankings. In addition, we have strong assets for the stages where we see opportunities for daytime successes. ”

Compared to the Giro roster announced in July, Casper Pedersen has been replaced by Chad Haga.
