The BinckBank Tour starts today in Blankenberge. A successor is being sought for Laurens De Plus, who rode Tim Wellens out of the green leader’s jersey on the final day last year. Discuss on here Cycling Flash the course of the course!

The BinckBank Tour starts at the aquatic zoo Sea Life in the West Flemish coastal town of Blankenberge. From there the route winds south to the local lap through and around Ardooie. We know this place from the annual Kermiscross and the Championship of Flanders, which was won last year by Deceuninck trainee Jannik Steimle. But the finish line is also being drawn here for the thirteenth time in this multi-day event.

After 85.3 kilometers, the riders cross the line for the first time, after which three more laps of 15.6 kilometers have to be completed. After 113.3 kilometers there is the Golden Kilometer in which bonuses can be earned in three bonus sprints: three, two and one seconds for the first three riders. The last five kilometers are fairly straightforward, after which the finish is in the Stationsstraat of Ardooie.

The go-ahead is given at 1.30 pm. The finish is expected between 4.43 pm and 5.02 pm. The course can be followed directly from 2.30 pm via Eurosport, Sporza, Ziggo Sport in GCN.
