Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War Zombies details onthuld via trailer

Treyarch has just provided details about the Zombie mode of Call of Duty: Cold War via a video of more than 8 minutes. This is a completely new mode, as the story of the previous zombies ended after Black Ops 4. The new mode honors the original while adding new features.

Watch the full video below.

The new chapter is called “Die Machine” and contains the famous map of the Night of the Untoten. The story takes place in the same universe, but a different time. In Black Ops 4, the characters sacrificed themselves to create a world without zombies. This only partially worked, because the zombies are back. Just like the main game, the story has a cold war theme, making multiple organizations part of the plot. The new world takes a lot of interest in the zombies and why they are there, leading many groups to try to take power.

In the video we see different maps, weapons, modes and tools. The most striking is the helicopter that you can call in with a machine gun. The gameplay remains almost the same as the original games. You still have to survive round after round as you continue to get upgrades and the opponents get stronger. This time there will be even more crazy weapons, according to the developers “keeping zombies like zombies, a lot of fun.”

The progression of zombies and all other content from Black Ops Cold War is distributed equally across all modes. When you earn XP in Zombies or standard Multiplayer, you also get it for zombies and vice versa. This means that you start with a pistol, but can just bring your favorite load-out.

In previous editions you could only leave the battlefield dead. The developers have now included a feature in the game to leave the playing field via a helicopter and nice rewards, if you choose to do so. You have to defeat a number of waves with extra zombies to get the chopper.

Finally, a battle pass comes to the game that has content for Zombies.

Call of Duty: Cold War will be released on November 13th for current and next-gen consoles, and for PC.
