Blokker mother wants to include electronics chain BCC for ‘symbolic amount’ | NOW

Mirage Retail Group, the company behind Blokker, among others, is planning to take over the electronics chain BCC. This is reported by the French Fnac Darby, the current owner of BCC.

Both parties are in an advanced stage and expect to complete the deal in the last quarter of this year, after obtaining approval from competition authorities and employee representatives.

How much Mirage pays to enlist the BCC stores has not been disclosed. Fnac Darby does speak of a “symbolic amount”. At the beginning of this year it became clear that the French were looking for a new owner for the chain. BCC has 62 stores in the Netherlands and is also active online.

In addition to Blokker, Mirage Retail Group also owns other chains, including Big Bazar and Intertoys. It was some time in the race to take over HEMA, but has since decided against it.
