Ajax has made a profit of 20.7 million euros in the 2019/2020 financial year, the club announced via Ajax.nl. Partly for this reason, shareholders’ equity also increased by 18.8 million to 228.8 million euros.
Ajax’s net turnover for the aforementioned financial year amounts to EUR 162.3 million. That is 37.2 million euros less than during the previous season, when 199.5 million euros came in. The reason for this is the lower income from European competitions and the consequences of the corona virus.
Where turnover fell, costs rose during the past season. With an extra EUR 0.2 million, there was a small increase. In total, costs amounted to 165.4 million euros and the increase is mainly due to an increase in the club’s salary costs.
Income and expenditure transfers
The contribution of income from player transfers is also taken separately, also known as result fee sums. This amounts to 84.5 million euros, with the transfers of Matthijs de Ligt and Kasper Dolberg being mentioned as important items. The outgoing transfers from last summer do not count here.
Amortization of compensation amounts increased by 13.8 million to 52.5 million euros. This has to do with the incoming transfers from Quincy Promes, Lisandro Martínez, Razvan Marin, Lisandro Magallan and Edson Álvarez.
