Ajax is still in talks with Werder Bremen about a transfer from Davy Klaassen, Ajax watcher Mike Verweij reports. The Telegraph via Twitter. The journalist of the morning newspaper adds that Davy Klaassen himself will come out with Ajax.
‘Would like to go back’, Verweij writes about Klaassen. The midfielder has been playing football at Werder Bremen since the summer of 2018. With the German club, he narrowly avoided relegation last season. It was announced on Tuesday that Werder Bremen will not stop a transfer for the right price.
Klaassen went through the youth academy at Ajax and made his debut in 2011 for the first team of the club. With three titles, a Johan Cruijff Shield and a Europa League final in his pocket, he left for Everton in the summer of 2017. He barely got around to playing at that club, so he left for Werder Bremen after one season.
