The IDF attacks Hamas military positions in response to rocket fire – a security policy

The IDF announced Saturday that military tanks attacked two Hamas military posts in the northern Gaza Strip. The attacks were carried out in response to the rocket fire launched from the Gaza Strip into Israeli territory earlier today.

Earlier, the IDF announced that a rocket launch had been launched from the Gaza Strip, which fell in open territory. The Sha’ar HaNegev Regional Council announced that an alarm had been launched in some of the council’s settlements. There are no injuries to the body and no damage to property, ”the council said.

On Wednesday, three rockets were fired from Gaza into Israel, after which Air Force planes hit Hamas targets in the southern Gaza Strip. The IDF spokesman reported that attacks were launched in response to rocket fire and blast bombs to Israeli territory. On Thursday, two mortar shells were fired from Gaza into Israel, and several Molotov cocktails landed in the Eshkol Regional Council.

The defense establishment believes that Hamas only allows rocket launches into open areas, apparently to avoid significant escalation. It is estimated that Hamas wants to put pressure on Israel to advance steps toward the series, even before the next Knesset elections. Security sources say Hamas has recently sent messages claiming that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Naftali Bennett are not in agreement with him on the regulation because of fear of the electorate’s reaction, and that the organization is unwilling to accept it.
