“The atmosphere was surprisingly calm despite large columns of smoke”said wedding photographer Randolf Evan. The Taal volcano he woke up about two hours before the wedding, and only at the end of the ceremony did the ashes begin to settle in that area too.
In the past few hours, the authorities have issued a “total evacuation” order that affects almost half a million people, exactly 450 thousand, who live in the area of greatest risk, that is within a radius of 14 kilometers around the volcano which is only 66 kilometers from Manila . Located in the middle of a lake on the island of Luzon, Taal is the second most active volcano in the country and one of the smallest in the world.
