Maverick Vinales moves to Doha to work with Qatar Motorsports Academy. "I want to improve physically and mentally".
Having finished the MotoGP 2019 season in 3rd place and the winter tests in command, Maverick Vinales wants to think big for 2020. From here to the start of the next World Championship will live in Doha to work with Qatar Motorsports Academy to promote young hopes of the Arab state and train at the Losail circuit. The goal is to improve his driving style and mental and physical status to give the assault on the world title.
The idea of moving to Qatar was born at the beginning of the season, on the occasion of the first Grand Prix, when he saw the academy structures up close. "I spoke to the head of the track and they open the doors for me whenever I want", Vinales told Speedweek.com. Maverick has residence in Andorra, but in winter the snow prevents him from exercising outdoors at full capacity. From Doha begins his next adventure in MotoGP. "There are also very experienced pilots who can help you … They are fast and I need pilots to push me. For me, being at Qatar Motorsports Academy means improving, improving and improving every day. This is my goal".
In the coming weeks Maverick Vinales will also collaborate with the Aspire Academy for Sports Excellence, a technologically advanced training academy with cutting-edge facilities and world-class professionals. "They check which exercises help me to be better on the bike. I think I have the chance to work with a very specific training program, related to what we do when we drive a MotoGP". Not only physical preparation, but also mental. "Staying mentally focused is very important. For example, I am learning to remain calm when we are going through difficult times. It is this kind of advice that will help me improve my life – concluded the Spaniard from Yamaha -. Not only as a pilot, but also in private life".
