Thunberg, who is 16, has made himself known throughout the world for having started the "Friday for the future" (Fridays for Future), the student demonstrations organized to ask political governments and more incisive actions to fight climate change and global warming. The idea of "Friday for the future" was born on August 20, 2018, when Thunberg decided not to go to school until September 9th, the day of the political elections, asking the government to take climate change more seriously, adopting more incisive policies to reduce carbon dioxide emissions (among the main greenhouse gases). The protest was born following a particularly hot summer in Sweden, which had led to numerous and extensive fires in the country. Since then, "Fridays for the future" have spread all over the world and Thunberg has become the symbol and the best known representative.
