Unicredit: after the farewell to Mediobanca, Mustier prepares the repurchase of treasury shares

<! – ->torre_unicreditThe business newspaper comments on the accounts for the first 9 months of 2019 of Unicredit, arrived the day after the announcement of the sale, with an accelerated sale, of the 8.4% share historically held in Mediobanca. Jean Pierre Mustier's institute closed the period on 30 September 2019 with better than expected results.

But what will now be the bank's moves, which in less than a month will present its new business plan (which should be renamed "Team 23") after having successfully closed the Transform 2019? According to the economic daily, the focus of Unicredit will now be on the costs and the project of creating a sub holding (which will be Italian and unlisted) in which to channel international assets.

The same Mustier said during the call to comment on the data that it is difficult to imagine that revenues will grow much, "and certainly can not grow more than the economy grows". The number one of Unicredit sees "the need to generate sustainable profitability first".

The resources deriving from the sale of the Mediobanca share package could be used to repurchase treasury shares.
