The philosopher and academic Remo Bodei, professor of philosophy at the University of California, has died. He was 81 years old, he was born in Cagliari and for many years he taught at the Scuola Normale Superiore and at the University of Pisa. He was one of the leading experts on the philosophies of classical German idealism and the romantic age. His most recent book, released in September, is titled Domain and submission. Slaves, animals, machines, artificial intelligence.
Last September, the meetings at which Bodei was supposed to participate in the Festivalfilosofia of Modena – whose scientific committee he was president – had been canceled due to his illness.
