At the start of the 2020 Formula 1 World Championship there are over 4 months left, but the teams and Pirelli already have their eyes turned to 2021, the year of the long-awaited technical revolution of the motorsport class.

Today the Milanese sole supplier of tires began a 2-day test on the Paul Ricard track in France to test the 2021 tires, the 18-inch ones.

For Pirelli, this is the second test taking advantage of the F1 single-seaters on the track. After the first, in which Renault was always used on the Paul Ricard track, this time it was McLaren's turn.

The Woking team has made available a mule-car to help Pirelli in the development of 18 "tires that will make their official debut in just over 1 year. At the wheel of the forklift car is Carlos Sainz (who in the video posted at the bottom of the article, having fun waiting to shoot with McLaren).

Renault, in the first test run from 12 to 13 September on the French track with Sergey Sirotkin at the wheel, had made available to Pirelli an RS18 – thus the car of the past year – adapted for testing with 18 "tires. Sirotkin he managed to complete 94 laps on the first day.
