MILAN – Jannik Sinner triumphs in Milan in the third edition of the ATP Finals Next Gen. An incredible match that was put in place at the Allianz Cloud by the 18-year-old native of the province of Bolzano who literally swept the Australian Alex de Minaur, world number 18 and between the likely candidates to join the top10 in 2020. The Italian player closed his tournament in the best possible way by beating the Aussie player with a clear 4-2, 4-1, 4-2 in just over an hour.Incredible path – Sinner, n.95 of the world that until now had shown that it did not feel the pressure going to win against more titled opponents like the American Frances Tiafoe and the Swede Mikael Ymer in the group and the Serbian Miomir Kecmanovic in the semifinals, in the last act of the tournament fielded a real test of maturity giving a sound lesson to the very strong Australian tennis player, favorite on the eve and arrived in the final as an unbeaten. For him yet another hoax after the final lost a year ago against Stefanos Tsitsipas.
Match with no history – At the limit of perfection the match of the azzurrino who makes the first game of the game his own after canceling two break points for the opponent. The two play at par for the first two games (2-2), then the Italian starts to bring out his best tennis and the Australian collapses: 4-2 the first set. In the second there is no game. Sinner flies on 3-0, concedes a game with de Minaur in batting, but in the fifth game, after seeing himself cancel a break ball, he crashes into the Australian 4-1 taking 2-0 ahead in the set account. In the third strong part the number 18 of the world and wins the game leaving the blue to zero. Sinner, however, rolls up his sleeves and first draws the account of the games, then extends to 3-1. De Minaur does not give up, 3-2, but after an hour of battle, Sinner enters the history of Italian and world tennis. He, who arrived in Milan thanks to a wild card.
