Two people were stabbed on the Frecciarossa train leaving Turin Porta Nuova at 8:20 am and headed to Roma Termini. The aggression, at the end of which a man, Domenico Foti, was arrested, occurred around 10.30 am near the Bologna Central station.

The stabbed woman is a 41-year-old from Milan. Women are employed by an external company that performs catering services on the train. The aggressor is a 47-year-old train cleaner. Foti, a Calabrese resident of Abbiategrasso in the Milan area, has already been arrested thanks to the collaboration of some travelers who attended the scene. Among them another man, a 44-year-old from Parma, who was injured in an attempt to defend the woman.

According to preliminary reports, the attacker and the injured woman knew each other. Probably the assault was born precisely for personal reasons linked to jealousies between the two. Both were employed for external firms: Foti at Dussman and women at Itinere. A quarrel would break out between the two, then the wounding. In defense of the woman a man would then intervene, who stood between the two and was hit by a blow.

The injured woman is hospitalized in intensive care, in a private prognosis. The other stabbed man was taken to the emergency ward in code 2, which is that of medium gravity. The attacker is accused of attempted murder.

The 9309 train, departed from Turin and headed for Rome, after having been delayed for sixty minutes, was canceled and made available to the judicial authority for the findings of the case.

At 11.30 am, the FS group announced that after the chaos following the violent assault and the subsequent findings by the judicial authority, rail traffic was gradually recovering.

The trains directly involved in the inconveniences are the FR 9614 Napoli Centrale (7:40) – Milano Centrale (12:02); FR 9621 Milano Centrale (9:30) – Roma Termini (12:37); FR 9623 Milano Centrale (10:00) – Napoli Centrale (14:23); FR 9413 Venice Saint Lucia (9:35) – Rome Termini (13:28); FR 9529/9531 Torino Porta Nuova (9:00) – Salerno (16:05); FR 8419/8420 Venice Santa Lucia (9:25) – Fiumicino Airport (14:07).
