Brazil. Penultimate round of the 2019 world championship. The racetrack Jose Carlos Pace imposes, to the cars of Formula One, a configuration aerodynamics from medium to medium high load. Therefore, depending on the vertical thrust that the car body manages to generate, the aerodynamic choice will take one direction rather than another. The correct balance of the car must therefore be able to generate, at the same time, load and tip speed.
Taking a look at the third sector of the Brazilian track, it comes into view the long uphill acceleration out of the famous curve Juncao. In this point the power of the power unit is fundamental to enjoy the necessary boost in this important acceleration phase. At the same time, to benefit from an aerodynamically efficient single-seater, to have a high penetration coefficient.
But how much can be generated downforce and at the same time decrease drag?
Let's start with a fixed point. In Formula one, in the analysis of the fluids of a car, one must necessarily possess a general picture of the situation. A single component actually works in correlation with many other parts of the car by finding l'aerodynamic balance. That said, bearing in mind the different guided areas of Interlagos, one must know how to "sacrifice" something to obtain a result. Aerodynamic penetration becomes very important especially on tracks where important straights are present.

With this move, the technicians of Milton Keynes, they are trying to move a greater flow of air into the outer area of the front tires to achieve a decrease in resistance to advancement. Apparently, looking at the times and especially the race pace of RB15 of the Dutch, the aerodynamic configuration chosen by the Austrian team seems, for now, to work.
