Official: Albon in Red Bull in 2020 – F1 Team – Formula 1


A rather important piece on the 2020 chessboard with regard to the F1 starting grid has taken place: Red Bull has in fact put an end to the seat race alongside Max Verstappen for next season. Alexander Albon has convinced Helmut Marko and Christian Horner in the seven races carried out at the wheel of the RB15 after twelve races driving the Toro Rosso STR14.

The pilot of the 1996 class will be at the wheel of the Red Bull also next season, which will be only the second in F1 for Albon, newcomer in 2019. Pierre Gasly and Daniil Kvyat will have to settle for another championship in Toro Rosso, as Nico Hulkenberg will not have a chance in a top-team despite summer telephone pressing to Helmut Marko.

These are the words of Alexander Albon, who will run in Brazil at Interlagos and in Abu Dhabi at Yas Marina with the certainty of the place in Red Bull for next season: "I am really happy to have received confirmation from Red Bull for 2020, the championship in which I will be back with Max Verstappen. The team gave me a great opportunity in this vintage and I am proud to have repaid this trust with good results. My debut in F1 has been lively, I want to use this experience in 2020 where I want to fight at the top of the category ".

Christian Horner has thus argued the confirmation of the Thai-born pilot: "Albon has been exceptional since joining the team from Belgium, seven results in the top-6 speak for themselves, showed great tenacity in all the races and earned the confirmation for the field in 2020. We are certain that it has great potential yet to be expressed and we look forward to seeing it at work in the coming season thanks to the experience gained in its debut year ”.
