The Milan court sentenced the former president of MPS to a sentence of 7 years and 6 months Giuseppe Mussari, as part of the process on a series of financial transactions carried out by the Sienese bank to cover the losses caused by the purchase of Antonveneta. The former general manager is also sentenced Antonio Vigni, at 7 years and 3 months and the former finance director Gianluca Baldassarri at 4 years and 8 months.
The judges also condemned Daniele Pirondini, former financial director of Rocca Salimbeni, at 5 years and 3 months.
The public prosecutor of Milan Giordano Baggio, holder of the inquiry together with Stefano Civardi and Mauro Clerici, had requested a sentence of 8 years imprisonment and a fine of 4 million euros. The crimes alleged against all the defendants in the trial are, in various ways, market manipulation, false accounting, false prospectus and obstacle to the supervisory authority.
The court of Milan has condemned Deutsche Bank Ag and Deutsche Bank London Branch to the total confiscation of 64 million euros and a fine of 3 million euros. The two companies of the Deutsche Bank group are charged by virtue of Law 231/2001 on the administrative liability of entities.
The court also sentenced the Japanese bank Nomura confiscation of 88 million euros and a fine of 3.45 million euros, again with regard to a series of financial transactions carried out by the Sienese bank to cover the losses caused by the purchase of Antonveneta.
