VALENCIA – Marc Marquez smiles when he has to comment on the debut, with a fall, of his brother Alex: "He is really a Marquez!" He jokes. Marc also fell (the photos in the live): both, fortunately they didn't get hurt. Here's what they said, with the addition of Cal Crutchlow who, like Marquez (Marc), tried the RC213V 2020.
MARC MARQUEZ: "I TRIED ONLY THE 2020 ENGINE"
"It is never easy to debut in MotoGP, especially in Valencia with these temperatures. My brother joined the track early, I think the third: I immediately thought it would be a risk … He was good at not losing confidence, then I don't know anything more. I focused on my work and it will be like that when it is by my side. Today I tried the 2020 engine, doing a different test than what Crutchlow did: let's go ahead in parallel, it's me and him that we have to do the development work. The first impression is positive, we have worked in the right way. As for the chassis, I used the "standard" one just to better understand engine operation. Too bad for the fall, rather strange: I had just left the garage and I don't really know what happened. It wasn't a break, but when you try a new prototype, sometimes you don't know the reactions well ".
ALEX MARQUEZ: "I WILL ASK MARC AS I HAVE SEEN ON THE BIKE"
"It was not the best way to start, but mine was a debutante fall … Too bad because it changed the work schedule a bit, I didn't do so many laps, but the important aspect is that I have continuously improved, even in the rhythm. I was impressed by the power and, perhaps even more, the carbon brakes, really complicated to handle. Why did I accept this challenge? I won the Moto2 title, this opportunity came up and it seemed right to catch it. I haven't talked to my brother yet, I'll ask him how he saw me on the bike. In Jerez we will be in the same box ”.
CAL CRUTCHLOW: "I HAVE NOT UNDERSTAND MUCH"
"The new bike is not a revolution, we are trying to make small improvements everywhere. Actually, I didn't understand much, we'll see tomorrow. Alex Marquez in HRC? I don't see anything strange, if he deserves it as much as I do, he is the Moto2 world champion. Zarco? To my knowledge, it has never been in the HRC's plans (he is right, NDA) ".
