With the newly renewed contract Alexander Albon taste the taste of the summit and then immediately fall: the young Red Bull-born Englishman is the fastest in the first free practice session of the Brazilian GP (1.16.142) with the risk of slick tires on the still wet track. A bet paid dearly in the final with an exit against the barriers in which it destroyed the wing and front right suspension.
It rained so much at Interlagos in the morning, and turned most of the time with the intermediates. In very difficult conditions, as the track in the final was drying quite quickly but not enough. Bottas was placed behind Albon, half a second off with the averages. Then the Ferraris: with the new engine Charles Leclerc (he replaced the V6 turbo broken in Austin and will start relegated to ten positions) he sat down behind Sebastian Vettel. Lewis Hamilton remained in the garage waiting for the weather to improve, when he left he failed to make timed laps due to the red flag for Albon's accident: he didn't want to risk having already won the World Cup. The second session at 7 pm will be more indicative to understand the values.
